Fundamentals of planning, design and construction II (GPEK II)

The course Fundamentals of Planning, Design and Construction II is part of the B.Sc. BI, B.Sc. WIBI and B.Sc. UI degree programmes. It is a compulsory module.

As part of the GPEK II module, a construction project is planned in interdisciplinary project work with various specialist roles. In addition to the subject-specific requirements, the work is aimed at the following tasks:

  • Processing an interdisciplinary planning process
  • Designing a construction project organisation
  • Developing and applying specialist knowledge in a team
  • Presenting and defending results

The focus of working on the topic from the perspective of the specialist role of structural planning (TWP) lies in the following aspects:

  • Structural design
  • Cross-section selection
  • construction methods
  • Detailing

The GPEK course lasts two semesters and counts for 6 CP.

The course Fundamentals of Planning and Design consists of two parts. The first part is offered in the winter semester and the corresponding second part in the summer semester. The course is held in German.
