3-D-Drucken mit Stahl: Einfluss von Kühlprozessen auf die Additive Fertigung von Strukturen mittels Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing
3D Printing with Steel: Influence of Cooling Processes on the Additive Manufacturing of Structures by Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing
2020/12/01
Additive manufacturing is becoming more and more prominent in the construction industry. In steel construction, a process using arc welding, so-called Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM), is a promising manufacturing method. Especially for larger components, a sufficiently high deposition rate is crucial. In addition to knowledge of suitable welding parameters, knowledge of the influence of cooling processes on the manufacturing and material properties of printed structures plays a decisive role. The Department of Steel Construction has two welding robots for researching the technology and its application.
