A wide variety of different types of test specimens can be loaded in tension or compression in the 1000 kN standard testing machine. The video shows an example of the shear test on a sandwich shear beam. As part of the test, the shear load-bearing capacity and the shear modulus of the core material (in this case polyurethane foam) are determined.
